Statement of Confidentiality

This statement of confidentiality sets a framework in which all Clients’ rights to a confidential service is upheld at all times. The word client here refers to all persons who engages our online counselling or online supervision services. This statement provides a professional framework in which the Counsellor/ Supervisor who is privy to confidential information, will work within.

Confidentiality is central to building trust between the Client and the Counsellor/Supervisor.

   As recipient of  personal information I the Counsellor/Supervisor understands that it is given to me in total trust & will handle all information with the utmost professionalism, adhering to the BACP guidelines for best practice.

A  Client is protected against improper disclosures at all times.  In situations where there are concerns of harm to self or others, the  Counsellor/Supervisor is legally obligated to make necessary disclosures. Before disclosing any information, the client will be informed in the first instance, to help the Client understand the reasons for disclosure, what will be disclosed and to whom it will be disclosed.
